PLEASE Vote for Remy & Youk

Please vote for Jerry Remy EVERY DAY during Sept. for the Ford C. Frick Award. It is given to a baseball broadcaster that has made contributions to baseball. I think Remy deserves it.

Don’t forget to vote for Youk for the Clemente award for all the work he has done to help people especially kids.

Thanks for the comment. Glad to have someone so young blogging the Sox! I’ve loved them since I was a little girl, and I wish I’d started blogging them sooner. Keep up the good work. Who knows, someday we may be reading your Sox column in the Boston Globe! (PS, thanks for the links, I just put my votes in)

Victoria — I did see your post urging us to vote for Jerry Remy every day, for the Frick award.-

The Frick award is a lifetime achievement award, granted to those who have reached the ultimate top of the broadcast world, and have also endured in that.

I do believe that Jerry Remy will be there someday , and will earn the Frick award. However, there are three Boston Red Sox broadcasters, all who are no longer with us, who also deserve the honor. So, since I am only allowed to vote for THREE — I am going with Ken Coleman, Ned Martin, and Jim Woods, all who are deserving, and at this time, considerably more worthy of inclusion than anyone currently in the Red Sox broadcast media at this time. I think it’s important to know that the Frick and Spink awards are not “Facebook” contests, nor are they popularity gigs like “Red Sox Nation presidency” or bloggers that can be rated up or down. I wish you luck, but, I think Red Sox history is very important, too, and these men should not be forgotten.

Thanks Sara. I only voted once so far so I’m going to look up the other 3 guys you talked about and use my other 2 votes for 2 of them. I’m only 10 and I know
a lot about the old players but not much about the broadcasters so I’m going to study up on it. Thanks for the information. If you have a blog let me know the link so I can read your blog
